Early Vintage

The most famous players of the early vintage period were to be found on British soil with Ted Ray and Sandy herd challenging the great Triumvirate of Harry Vardon, James Braid and J.H.Taylor.

The ladies were also emerging from their domestic roles after the first home internationals started producing a sporting approach to their games. Like their male counterparts Cecil Leitch, Dorothy Hurd, Gladys were regularly featured in the news papers of the time.
