The big three superstars of the 60`s (Palmer, Nicklaus and Player) continued winning well into the next decade but gradually began to concede their dominance to players such as Johnny Miller, Tom Weiskopf and more significantly Tom Watson.
Into the eighties a new European contingent started to challenge American dominance. Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam and most effectively the magic of Seve Ballesteros.
